Shreya graduated with her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and currently serves as the CEO of Via Separations. Her PhD research focused on the design and manufacture of graphene oxide membranes for water filtration, including the first atomic imaging of graphene oxide, a functional proof-of-concept membrane design, and path-defining economic analysis of membranes at the system level. Via Separations is now scaling this technology for manufacturing process intensification. She is passionate about interdisciplinary creativity, building things, and educating people and was recently awarded Technology Review’s 35 Innovators under 35. She also holds Bachelors and Masters’ degrees from MIT in Mechanical Engineering and Technology & Policy.
